Annual Heater Tune-Ups & Plans

The cheapest heater repair is the one you never need. Tech On Call's annual fall tune-up catches cracked heat exchangers, weak ignitors, dirty burners, refrigerant issues (on heat pumps), and gas leaks before they turn into mid-winter no-heat calls. Most manufacturer warranties require documented annual service to stay valid.

Every tune-up is matched to the heater type. Gas furnaces get full combustion analysis, heat exchanger inspection, burner and flame sensor cleaning, gas pressure verification, and CO testing at supply registers. Heat pumps get refrigerant verification, reversing valve test, defrost cycle check. Wall and floor furnaces get pilot, thermocouple, and venting service. All documented in writing.

Plan members get priority dispatch on repair calls, no after-hours overtime, and 15% off parts and labor. Pair with AC maintenance for full-HVAC coverage at a discount.

Why Maintenance Matters

What A Skipped Tune-Up Costs You

Diagnose · Repair · Restore
01

Cracked Heat Exchanger

CO safety hazard. Annual inspection catches it before the CO detector does.

02

Dirty Burners & Sensor

Causes incomplete combustion and short-cycling. 20-minute cleaning prevents it.

03

Voided Warranty

Most manufacturers require documented annual service. Skipping is expensive.

04

Restricted Airflow

Dirty filter overheats heat exchanger, shortens life dramatically.

05

CO Leak Risk

We test CO at supply registers — only way to confirm combustion gases stay out.

06

Heat Pump Refrigerant

Low charge cuts heating output and damages compressor. Annual check catches it.

Maintenance FAQ

Maintenance Questions

01

How often should I service my heater?

Annually, in early fall. Most manufacturer warranties require documented annual service.

02

What does a tune-up include?

Heat exchanger inspection, burner and flame sensor cleaning, combustion test, CO check, blower amp draw, filter inspection, thermostat calibration.

03

Do you offer plans?

Yes — from $19/mo heating-only, $29/mo full HVAC.

04

Does maintenance keep my warranty valid?

Yes — we keep service records on file for warranty claims.

05

Could my furnace be leaking carbon monoxide?

A cracked heat exchanger is the most common source of CO leaks from a furnace. Warning signs: soot around the burner area, a yellow (not blue) flame, headaches or dizziness when the furnace runs, and a CO detector alarm. If you suspect a leak, shut the furnace off at the breaker, open windows, and call us — we test combustion and inspect the heat exchanger as part of every diagnostic.

06

What cities do you serve for heating repair?

Every city in Riverside and San Bernardino County — Riverside, San Bernardino, Fontana, Rancho Cucamonga, Ontario, Corona, Moreno Valley, Temecula, Murrieta, Redlands, Hesperia, Victorville, and the Coachella Valley. Cold-snap nights in Hesperia, Victorville, and Yucaipa drive the most no-heat calls — we triage those first.

07

Do you offer financing on furnace replacement?

Yes — financing is available on qualifying furnace and heat pump installs. We'll walk through monthly payment options and California rebate eligibility (SoCalGas, SCE, federal IRA tax credits) before you commit.
