AC Tune-Ups That Pay For Themselves

Annual AC Maintenance In The Inland Empire

Inland Empire summers are brutal on air conditioning. Riverside and San Bernardino County systems run more hours, in higher ambient temps, with more airborne dust and pollen than almost anywhere else in California. Without annual maintenance, a typical AC loses about 5% of its efficiency every year — by year five, you're paying 25% more on your electric bill for the same level of comfort. Worse, most catastrophic compressor failures (the kind that force a full replacement) are traceable to one of three preventable conditions: low refrigerant from an unrepaired leak, a frozen coil from a dirty filter or restricted airflow, or a weak capacitor that should have been replaced at first sign of swelling.

Our annual AC tune-up covers all of it. We deep-clean the outdoor condenser coil and the indoor evaporator coil, measure refrigerant pressure and weigh in any needed charge, test the run capacitor and contactor under load, flush the condensate drain to prevent overflow flooding, check all electrical connections for heat damage, and verify supply temperature against return temperature to confirm the system is moving heat properly. You get a written service report — the same paperwork manufacturers require to honor your 10-year parts warranty.

Maintenance plans also unlock priority dispatch. When the Inland Empire heat wave hits and every HVAC company is booked three days out, plan members get the same-day slot. See AC repair for what we cover when something does break, and emergency AC repair for after-hours coverage.

What Skipping Tune-Ups Actually Costs

Diagnose · Repair · Restore
01

Efficiency Drops 5% Per Year

A dirty coil and low refrigerant cut SEER each year. By year 5, you're paying 25% more for the same comfort.

02

Warranty Voids Without Records

Most manufacturers require documented annual service. No records = no warranty when the compressor fails.

03

Dirty Coils Freeze Up

Restricted airflow freezes the evaporator and breaks the compressor. A $200 cleaning prevents a $2,000+ repair.

04

Refrigerant Quietly Leaks

Small leaks reduce cooling, ice the line, and damage the compressor. We measure superheat/subcool every visit.

05

Weak Capacitor = Hard Starts

A swelling capacitor stresses the compressor every cycle. Caught at tune-up it's $200; missed, it kills a $2,500 compressor.

06

Dirty Filter Strangles The System

Restricted airflow ices the coil, overheats the motor, and shortens equipment life. We swap or recommend the right MERV.

07

Clogged Condensate Floods Ceilings

An algae-clogged drain backs up and breaches the pan. We flush the line and verify the float switch every visit.

08

Desert Heat Eats Capacitors

Coachella Valley and High Desert summers cook electrical components — semi-annual tune-ups catch failures before peak heat.

Who It's For

Built For Every Inland Empire Home

01

Single-Family Homes

The classic plan — one spring visit, ahead of the heat, every year.

02

Desert & High Desert

Coachella Valley and Victorville sun cooks AC equipment — we recommend semi-annual service for those climates.

03

Multi-Unit & ADU Owners

Property managers and small landlords — one PM agreement covers every unit, every year.

04

New System Owners

Manufacturers require documented annual service to honor warranty. We provide the paperwork.

05

Mini-Split Owners

Ductless heads need filter cleaning and blower wheel service — we cover both heads and outdoor unit on the same visit.

06

Heat Pump Owners

Heat pumps run year-round and benefit most from semi-annual service. The Comfort+ plan was built for this.

Tune-Up Checklist

What Happens On Your Service Visit

  1. 01

    Outdoor Condenser Coil Cleaning

Foam-cleaner application, fin-comb straightening, full rinse-down. A clean coil drops compressor head pressure by 10–20°F and recovers 10–15% of lost cooling capacity.

  2. 02

    Indoor Evaporator Coil Inspection

Visual inspection through the access panel, deep cleaning when needed, and a check for biological growth. A clean evap coil keeps airflow free and prevents the frozen-coil cycle.

  3. 03

    Refrigerant Pressure & Charge

Manifold gauges connected, superheat and subcooling calculated against ambient. If the charge is low we leak-test before any recharge — we don't just top off.

  4. 04

    Electrical & Capacitor Test

Capacitor microfarads measured under load, contactor pitting inspected, all wire-nuts and lugs torqued. Catching a weak cap here prevents a compressor failure later.

  5. 05

    Condensate Drain Flush

Vacuum, flush, and pour algae treatment. We verify the float switch trips properly so a future clog shuts the system off instead of flooding the ceiling.

  6. 06

    Airflow & Temperature Verification

Supply temp, return temp, and static pressure measured. A 18–22°F split confirms the system is moving heat correctly. Anything outside that gets investigated.

  7. 07

    Written Service Report

Photos of cleaned coils, all measurements logged, recommendations prioritized. The paperwork satisfies manufacturer warranty audits.

Maintenance FAQ

Maintenance Plan Questions

01

How often should I service my AC?

Once a year minimum — twice for desert climates (Coachella Valley, High Desert). Our Comfort+ plan covers spring AC and fall heating in one annual agreement.

02

What's included in an AC tune-up?

Coil cleaning (indoor and outdoor), refrigerant pressure verification, capacitor and contactor test under load, condensate drain flush, filter check, electrical inspection, and a written service report with photos.

03

How much does an AC tune-up cost?

One-time tune-up is $129. Annual plans start at $19/month and include the tune-up plus priority dispatch and 15% off any repair. Comfort+ adds your fall heating tune-up for $29/month.

04

Do tune-ups really save money on the electric bill?

Yes — a clean coil and verified refrigerant charge typically recover 10–20% of lost cooling capacity, which translates to a measurable drop on the summer electric bill. Most plans pay for themselves on the utility bill alone.

05

Do tune-ups protect my warranty?

Yes — most manufacturers require documented annual service to honor the 10-year parts warranty. We provide the records. Pairs well with a new install or replacement.

06

What if I need a repair?

Plan members get priority same-day dispatch and 15–20% off any repair. No after-hours overtime fees on the Annual or Comfort+ plans. See AC repair.

07

Can I cancel my plan?

Yes — month-to-month, cancel anytime, no penalty. We earn your business every year, we don't lock you into long contracts.

08

What cities in the Inland Empire do you serve?

Every city in Riverside and San Bernardino County — Riverside, San Bernardino, Fontana, Rancho Cucamonga, Ontario, Corona, Moreno Valley, Temecula, Murrieta, Redlands, Hesperia, Victorville, and the Coachella Valley. See the full service-area list at the bottom of this page.

09

Do you warranty your work?

Every repair carries a workmanship warranty, and we register manufacturer warranties on every install. Most major equipment ships with a 10-year parts warranty when registered within 60 days — we handle that paperwork for you.

10

Do you offer financing?

Yes — financing is available on qualifying installs and replacements. We'll walk through monthly payment options before you commit to anything.
