Refrigerant · Defrost · Coil Clean · Bi-Annual
Bi-annual tune-ups for systems that run year-round — refrigerant verification, defrost test, coil cleaning, reversing valve check.
Heat pumps work twice as hard as a furnace or AC alone — they run year-round, so they accumulate roughly double the runtime. That's why heat pump maintenance is bi-annual: spring tune-up for cooling mode, fall tune-up for heating mode. Tech On Call's bi-annual service catches refrigerant leaks, defrost board faults, reversing valve issues, and dirty outdoor coils before they turn into emergency calls.
Every visit includes refrigerant pressure verification (subcooling/superheat), defrost cycle test, reversing valve operation check, contactor and capacitor inspection, condensate drain clearing, indoor blower amp draw, and outdoor coil cleaning. Documentation goes on file for the manufacturer warranty.
Plan members get priority dispatch on repair calls, no after-hours overtime, and 15% off parts and labor. See also AC maintenance if you have a separate cooling system.
Slow Refrigerant Leak
Heat pumps are very sensitive to charge. Caught at tune-up, it's a small repair.
Dirty Outdoor Coil
Cuts efficiency dramatically. Annual cleaning restores capacity.
Defrost Board Drift
Sensors drift over time. Bench-test confirms proper defrost cycling before winter ice.
Voided Warranty
Manufacturers require documented annual service on heat pumps. We keep records.

Don't see your city? Call (909) 239-6364 — we likely cover your area.
How often should a heat pump be serviced?
Twice a year — spring for cooling mode, fall for heating mode. Heat pumps run year-round.
What does a tune-up include?
Refrigerant verification, defrost test, reversing valve check, contactor/capacitor inspection, coil cleaning, blower amp draw, condensate clearing.
Do you offer plans?
Yes — $29/mo for bi-annual heat pump coverage.
What cities do you serve for heating repair?
Every city in Riverside and San Bernardino County — Riverside, San Bernardino, Fontana, Rancho Cucamonga, Ontario, Corona, Moreno Valley, Temecula, Murrieta, Redlands, Hesperia, Victorville, and the Coachella Valley. Cold-snap nights in Hesperia, Victorville, and Yucaipa drive the most no-heat calls — we triage those first.
Do you warranty heating work?
Every repair carries a workmanship warranty. New furnace and heat pump installs are registered with the manufacturer — most ship a 10-year parts warranty when registered within 60 days, and we handle that paperwork for you.
