Install, repair, and maintain ductless mini-splits across the Inland Empire — Mitsubishi, Daikin, Fujitsu. Whisper-quiet, energy-efficient, and zoned to the room.
Ductless mini-splits are the cleanest way to add cooling to an addition, ADU, garage conversion, or hot room across the Inland Empire — no ductwork, no plenum, just a refrigerant line set running from an outdoor inverter compressor to one or more indoor heads. Single-zone systems handle a single room or studio ADU; multi-zone systems support up to 8 indoor heads on one outdoor unit, each with its own thermostat. Tech On Call installs, repairs, and maintains every major mini-split brand — Mitsubishi Electric, Daikin, Fujitsu, LG, Pioneer — across Riverside and San Bernardino County, including the Coachella Valley and High Desert where heat-pump mini-splits handle 115°F summers and freezing winter nights on the same equipment.
Mini-split installation cost varies more than central AC because the scope varies. A simple single-zone install in Fontana or Rancho Cucamonga — one outdoor unit, one indoor wall-mount head, short line set, standard 240V circuit — runs $4,500–$7,500 installed. A multi-zone whole-home retrofit (4–6 heads, 3-ton outdoor unit, electrical upgrade) runs $14,000–$22,000+. Every install includes a Manual J load calc per zone, brazed line set with nitrogen purge, deep vacuum, smart controls, and permit. We do not skip permits or "save you money" by skipping the brazing torch — both come back to bite at resale or warranty time.
Mini-splits also fail in specific ways central AC doesn't. Inverter boards take voltage hits in summer storms; indoor blower wheels collect dust and lose airflow; condensate drain lines clog with biofilm; communication wires fault between indoor and outdoor units. We diagnose all of it. For broader install work see AC installation, and for heat-pump mini-splits with California rebates see heat pumps.
Room Addition Or ADU
Extending existing ducts is expensive and inefficient. A mini-split heads to the new space directly — done in a day.
Garage Or Workshop
Garages need cooling without major electrical or duct work. A mini-split runs on a single 240V circuit.
Whole-Home Without Ducts
Older homes without ductwork can go ductless across every room with a multi-zone system — each room on its own thermostat.
One Room Too Hot
The bonus room over the garage, the west-facing bedroom — a single-zone mini-split fixes the room your central AC can't reach.
Zone-By-Zone Control
Stop cooling rooms nobody's in. Each indoor head has its own setpoint and schedule — real efficiency, real comfort.
Server / Wine / Studio
Dedicated low-temp setpoints for sensitive spaces — server closets, wine rooms, recording studios, and home gyms.
Backup Cooling
Independent system that keeps part of the house cool if the central AC fails — peace of mind during summer breakdowns.
Desert-Ready Inverters
Modern inverter mini-splits handle 115°F outdoor temps and stay quiet at part-load — perfect for Coachella Valley and Victorville.

Same-DayMini-Split Repair
We design, install, and service every major mini-split brand sold in California — including specialty inverter brands.
ADUs
California ADU code-compliant cooling with one outdoor unit and one indoor head — fast, clean install.
Garage Conversions
Conditioned garages, workshops, and home gyms — runs on a single dedicated circuit.
Multi-Zone Whole-Home
Older homes without ductwork — every room on its own zone with a single outdoor unit.
Hot Rooms
The room your central AC can't keep up with — bonus room, west-facing master, sunroom.
Server / Wine Rooms
Dedicated low-temp setpoints for sensitive equipment or wine storage.
Backup Cooling
Independent system that keeps part of the house cool if the central AC fails.
In-Home Design & Per-Zone Load Calc
We measure each room, run a Manual J per zone, and design the indoor head layout — wall-mount, ceiling-cassette, or floor-mount depending on the space.
Outdoor Unit Sizing
Single-zone or multi-zone outdoor unit sized for total connected load with diversity factor. Located for clearance, noise, and condensate routing.
Line Set Routing & Penetrations
Refrigerant line set, communication wire, and condensate routed through line-hide covers on exterior walls or concealed through interior chases when accessible.
Brazed Joints, Nitrogen Purge
Every refrigerant joint brazed under flowing nitrogen to prevent internal scaling. New filter-drier installed at outdoor unit.
Deep Vacuum & Pressure Test
Pulled to 500 microns with a real micron gauge and held. Pressure-tested before refrigerant release — moisture in the system kills inverter compressors.
Permit, Commissioning & Controls
California Title 24 permit pulled. Each indoor head paired to its controller; smart thermostat or Wi-Fi adapter set up. Startup measurements documented.

How much does mini split installation cost?
Single-zone installs $4,500–$7,500 installed; multi-zone $9,000–$22,000+ depending on heads and capacity. We quote in-home with per-zone load calc included.
How long does mini split installation take?
Single-zone installs typically one day. Multi-zone installs (3+ heads) run 1–2 days depending on line set runs and any electrical upgrades.
Can I install a mini split myself?
DIY kits exist, but California requires EPA 608 certification to handle refrigerant and a Title 24 permit for the install. Improper brazing or skipped vacuum voids the warranty and shortens compressor life — we strongly recommend professional install.
Will a mini-split handle Inland Empire heat?
Yes. Modern inverter heat-pump mini-splits cool effectively at 115°F outdoor and heat well below freezing — designed for desert climates.
How many indoor heads on one outdoor unit?
Multi-zone outdoor units support 2–8 indoor heads depending on capacity. Each head has its own remote and setpoint.
Single-zone vs multi-zone — which is better?
Single-zone is simpler and cheaper per indoor head — best for additions, ADUs, and single hot rooms. Multi-zone is better when you need 3+ heads on one outdoor unit for a whole-home retrofit.
Do mini-splits heat too?
Yes. Heat-pump mini-splits cool in summer and heat in winter on a single system — California rebate eligible.
Ductless vs ducted — which is better for my home?
Ducted central AC wins on sticker price if you already have good ductwork. Ductless wins on efficiency, per-room control, and on any home without ducts (or with bad ducts that would cost more to repair than the mini-split itself).
What cities in the Inland Empire do you serve?
Every city in Riverside and San Bernardino County — Riverside, San Bernardino, Fontana, Rancho Cucamonga, Ontario, Corona, Moreno Valley, Temecula, Murrieta, Redlands, Hesperia, Victorville, and the Coachella Valley. See the full service-area list at the bottom of this page.
Do you warranty your work?
Every repair carries a workmanship warranty, and we register manufacturer warranties on every install. Most major equipment ships with a 10-year parts warranty when registered within 60 days — we handle that paperwork for you.
Do you offer financing?
Yes — financing is available on qualifying installs and replacements. We'll walk through monthly payment options before you commit to anything.
