Install It Right The First Time
A Bad Install Lasts For Years

The Cost of a Cheap Install Shows Up Every Month

Undersized condensing units, poorly routed line sets, missing drain traps, and improperly charged systems don't fail the first day — they fail through higher energy bills, shorter compressor life, and product loss months later. By then the original installer is gone.

Tech On Call sizes equipment to your actual heat load, brazes line sets under nitrogen purge, evacuates to spec, and documents every commissioning step. The install is built to outlast its warranty — and we're still here when you need warranty service.

Planning Checklist

What We Verify Before We Quote

Every install starts with a free on-site walk-through. Here's what we confirm before we ever hand you a number.

Existing electrical capacity & breaker availability

01

Available floor space & ceiling clearance

02

Indoor vs outdoor condensing unit placement

03

Distance to nearest floor drain or condensate line

04

Door swing, traffic flow & loading access

05

Refrigerant type for the application (med-temp vs low-temp)

06

Ambient conditions (kitchen heat, rooftop sun, ventilation)

07

Health-department plan check requirements

08

Energy-rebate eligibility (SCE, SoCalGas, IID)

09

Maintenance access & filter / coil clearance

10

Missing or undersized infrastructure is the #1 cause of install delays and surprise change orders. We catch it during the walk-through — not after the equipment is on the truck. See our maintenance plans to keep your new install warranty-protected.

EPA-Certified Installation

Brazed Under Nitrogen. Charged To Spec.

Every line set we install is brazed under flowing nitrogen to keep oxidation out of the system. Every install is pressure-tested, evacuated to 500 microns, and charged to weight — not by gauge guesswork. That's the difference between an install that lasts 5 years and one that lasts 15.

Our Process

How Our Installs Work

Six steps from your first call to commissioned, warranty-registered equipment.

01

Free Consultation & Quote

Reach us at (909) 239-6364 Monday–Saturday 8AM–6PM. Tell us the equipment type, location, and project timeline — we'll schedule a free on-site walk-through.

02

Site Visit & Sizing

A licensed installer measures the space, confirms electrical and drain capacity, and sizes condensing units to your actual heat load — not a generic chart.

03

Permits & Plan Check

We pull mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration permits with Building & Safety and coordinate County Environmental Health plan check for food-service installs.

04

Equipment Delivery

Equipment is ordered, staged, and protected on site. We coordinate delivery with your contractor so the box arrives the day we're ready to set it.

05

Install & Commissioning

Panels go up, line sets are brazed under nitrogen purge, the system is evacuated and charged, controls are programmed, and we verify performance before powering down.

06

Sign-Off & Warranty

You receive a written commissioning report, warranty registration, and an optional maintenance plan to keep your equipment under manufacturer warranty for years.

Engineered For Your Application

Every install starts with a heat-load calculation, refrigerant selection, and condensing-unit sizing matched to your menu, hours, ambient conditions, and product turnover. Get those decisions wrong and you live with the energy bill, the warm spots, and the short compressor life for years. Get them right and the system runs quietly in the background while you focus on the business.

  • Refrigerant selection & CARB compliance
  • Condensing unit placement & ventilation

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

01

How much does commercial refrigeration installation cost in Riverside County?

Reach-in cooler installs typically run $1,800–$4,500 depending on size and electrical work. Walk-in cooler boxes start around $9,000–$18,000 for an 8x10 with a side-mount condensing unit, with remote-condensed and freezer builds running $18,000–$45,000+. Display case lineups, ice machines, and rack systems are quoted per project. Tech On Call provides a free written installation quote. Contact us online or call (909) 239-6364.

02

Do you handle the full installation — electrical, drains, and condensing unit?

Yes. A turn-key install includes equipment sizing, condensing unit placement (indoor, outdoor, or rooftop), line-set fabrication and brazing with nitrogen purge, evacuation and refrigerant charge, electrical hook-up coordination, condensate drain with proper trap and air-gap, controls and defrost setup, and full performance verification. We coordinate licensed electrical and plumbing sub-trades where required.

03

How long does a commercial refrigeration installation take?

A drop-in reach-in cooler is typically 4–8 hours. A standard walk-in cooler box assembly with side-mount condensing unit runs 1–2 days. A walk-in freezer with remote condensing unit, line set, and electrical can run 2–4 days. New restaurant or grocery buildouts with multiple cases on a rack system are scheduled in coordination with the general contractor's project timeline.

04

Can you install equipment I purchased separately?

Yes. We install owner-supplied equipment from any major manufacturer — True, Hoshizaki, Beverage-Air, Traulsen, Hussmann, Manitowoc, Scotsman, Master-Bilt, Norlake, Kolpak, and others. We verify the equipment matches the application before install. Don't see your brand? Call (909) 239-6364.

05

Do you offer Energy Star and refrigerant-compliant equipment?

Yes. We recommend and install ENERGY STAR-certified refrigeration that uses 20–40% less energy, and we install with low-GWP refrigerants compliant with California CARB (R-448A, R-449A, R-513A, R-290 where appropriate). Our EPA Section 608 Universal technicians handle every refrigerant transition properly.

06

Do you pull permits and handle health-department coordination?

Yes. For walk-in builds, rack systems, and major equipment additions we pull mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration permits with the city or county Building & Safety department. For food-service installs we coordinate with the County Environmental Health Department for plan check and final sign-off so your facility passes inspection on the first try.

07

Do you offer financing on commercial refrigeration installations?

Yes. We offer commercial equipment financing for qualified businesses across both counties — terms from 24 to 84 months on walk-ins, ice machines, display cases, and rack systems. Visit our financing page or call (909) 239-6364 to discuss options before you finalize the project budget.
